Musik, a Toronto night club located at Exhibition Place, has collected an estimated five tonnes of canned food on behalf of Project Engagement, a community-focused volunteer initiative. Project Engagement has arranged for the food to be picked up on January 19, 2011 for distribution by Daily Bread Food Bank.
Musik launched the food drive in mid December. The night club offered free admission to all customers bringing a food donation to the club before 11pm each evening. Originally planned to end in conjunction with Project Engagement’s Christmas food drive, the Muzik initiative was extended until January 15, 2011 at the urging of Councillor Michael Thompson and Project Engagement Co-Founder Vince Gasparro.  Project Engagement, a volunteer-based non-profit organization that looks to alleviate short and long-term poverty in the Toronto area by providing food and house-hold necessities to those in need.
